The Wedding

Riverstone Retreat Centre

We found Riverstone completely by chance. We ran into a friend very randomly and she recommended it. So we bundled up and dragged our sick houseguest (sorry Colleen!) to Durham on a frigid Saturday in January to check it out. We fell in love with the place instantly. The beautiful stone house, the pavilion and especially the EcoNest® were inspiring. And we don’t think you could find a sweeter couple than Ernie and Edith. We want Riverstone to be a place that our guests can enjoy for the whole weekend. There are beautiful trails running throughout the forested estate as well as a little stone labyrinth (where we are contemplating holding our ceremony). The Saugeen River flows along the property and has two ‘pools’ perfect for splashing around in, so please bring your bathing suit! There is a beach volleyball court and a large sandbox for the kids. We will also be playing lots of bocci and frisbee if the weather permits. There is no dress-code, so please feel free to be as casual or dressy as you would like. We would love as much live music as possible, so bring along your instruments and vocal cords. We are so looking forward to spending the weekend with all of our loved ones and bringing our two circles together!
